It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. Over the last year or so, a tremendous amount has changed in my life; my view of the world as well as my place in it. I seem to be having some difficulty balancing all the things I have going on and all the things I want to do. Something needs to give. It has come to a point where I need to start over, to “shake the etch-a-sketch” as it were, to make a clean slate. Continuing an unhealthy cycle without regard to my own mental health and well-being is just not something I can do any longer. With that being said, sadly, SilverState Tattoo and Arts Festival will be going on an indefinite hiatus.
The last 3 years have been an incredible ride. We wanted to put on a great show for great artists and we did just that. I have met so many amazing people (most of which I can now call my friends) along the way and for that I am eternally grateful. I can’t thank those that volunteered (as well as put up with my obsessiveness), ALL my dudes at Lasting Dose Tattoo and those that sponsored the show enough. Without your help and support I could have never pulled it off. I need to figure some things out in my personal life and to continue putting on this show would be a disservice to not only myself, but to all the artists, vendors as well as those who attend the show. It was a really great experience and I hope that someday I will be able to do it again.
Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.
Next year I will be selling everything I own, quitting Lasting Dose Tattoo and leaving Reno with only a passport, a backpack, my tattoo machines and a camera to go see the world. I don’t know where I am going, nor do I know how long. I will, however be documenting the entire journey and I want to take you all with me.
I would like to say that this isn’t the end, it’s really only just the beginning. I’ll see you out there and Let’s Get Weird.
